Job Responsibilities
- Arranges calls to deceased next of kin and confirms details.
- Performs removals or transfers according to company standards.
- Cares for the deceased respectfully and updates removal status.
- Greets next of kin and escorts them to the meeting space.
- Facilitates Arrangements Conferences, discussing needs and desired outcomes.
- Promotes funeral, cemetery, and crematory services and merchandise.
- Transitions Arrangements Conferences to Funeral Services Counselor/Advisor.
- Presides over visitation, funeral, or graveside services professionally.
- Visually inspects Services Arrangements and initiates corrective action if needed.
- Interacts with the family to fulfill their death care requests.
- Obtains leads for pre-need services.
- Planners and executes various event planning responsibilities.
- Produces MeM products and prepares event rooms.
- Cleans up after events and handles other attendant duties.
- May attend community or charity events to represent the location.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Industry experience is preferred.

- Process and results-oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead.
- Positive attitude, drive to advance industry knowledge, and high self-motivation.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Public speaking skills to influence and gain consensus.
- Proficient in using databases and MS Office applications.
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity, including paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage.
- Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps.
Work Conditions
- Environment - Work is both indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather.
- Attire - Professional business attire required when in contact with families.
- Postures - Frequent continuous periods of sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day; frequent climbing stairs.
- Physical Demands - Manual dexterity required for paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage.
- Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps.
