Job Responsibilities
- Arranges calls to deceased next of kin and confirms details.
- Performs removals or transfers as needed, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Greets next of kin and escorts them to the meeting space.
- Facilitates Arrangements Conferences, discussing life insurance, benefits, and funeral merchandise.
- Presents cemetery options and merchandise, and completes contracts.
- Presides over visitation, funeral, and graveside services, ensuring compliance with family wishes and regulations.
- Visually inspects Services Arrangements and takes corrective action if necessary.
- Interacts with the family to fulfill their death care requests and promotes pre-need services.
- Planners and executes various event planning responsibilities, including resource planning and ordering of flowers, music, and catering.
- Prepares and cleans event rooms, and handles courier duties as needed.
- Works under general guidance, learning to apply licensure in a business environment and collaborating with peers or managers for assistance and guidance.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Industry experience is preferred.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to build professional relationships.
- Proficiency in databases, MS Office, and other automated processes.
Qualifications
- Cognitive ability to reason, plan, identify problems, and learn quickly.
- Results-oriented and motivated to move projects forward by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives.
- Proficient in public speaking and able to influence and gain consensus.
- Physical ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps.
