Full-Time RN Head Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. Utilizing the nursing process, they ensure safe, high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. They provide clinical leadership, collaborating with management to maintain continuity of care aligned with hospital goals and policies.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Guide staff during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Innovate processes to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, hiring, evaluations, staffing, and productivity management.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Support ongoing professional development and learning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in current unit or similar setting.
• Computer literacy.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Preferred Skills

• ACLS certification.
