Full-Time RN - Emergency Department Head Nurse

About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily departmental operations, utilizing the nursing process for clinical decision-making. They provide compassionate, safe, and quality care, ensuring patient autonomy and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic data
• Collaborate with leadership to improve department performance
• Guide staff during emergencies
• Evaluate outcomes of interventions
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient results
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations
• Support ongoing healthcare improvement and effective communication in patient care

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related setting or specialty area
• Computer literacy
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire

Qualifications

• Preferred: ACLS certification
