Full-Time RN - Emergency Department Head Nurse

About the Role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing department. They utilize the nursing process for clinical decision-making, ensuring safe, compassionate, and quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. They provide clinical leadership to nursing staff, collaborating with leadership to maintain care continuity aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to identify and implement improvements.
• Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.
• Assess the effectiveness of clinical interventions and outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate patient care.
• Support ongoing professional development and learning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the current unit or similar setting.
• Computer literacy.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
