About the Role
A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and patient communication.
Responsibilities
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance.
- Assess and treat patients, interpreting CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators, oxygen analyzers, and blood gas analyzers.
- Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostics like arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and pulmonary function studies.
- Prepare treatment evaluations, perform physical assessments, and utilize critical thinking for patient care decisions.
- Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks, ensuring proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
- Provide excellent patient communication to enhance satisfaction.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP and PALS within 1 year of hire.
- Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the relevant medical board.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Preferred at least 6 months of respiratory care experience; new graduates encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in respiratory assessment, treatment, and equipment management.
