Full Time - Night - Respiratory Therapist

About the Role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides both therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory services, including ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance. Proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment for all ages, the RRT operates under indirect supervision, adhering to departmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics such as oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, airway maintenance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct and report cardiopulmonary diagnostics including ABG, pulse oximetry, and pulmonary function tests.
• Evaluate treatments through physical assessment, patient interviews, and review of medical records.
• Interpret diagnostic data like CXR, ABG, and PFTs.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiopulmonary equipment including ventilators and blood gas analyzers.
• Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilize effective communication to enhance patient satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP and PALS within one year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and registered by the NBRC.
• Minimum of 6 months respiratory care experience.
