Full-Time Charge Nurse - Medical Specialties

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for daily unit operations during assigned shifts
• Coordinate safe, efficient patient care and staffing assignments
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor nursing staff
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication among care teams
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards, regulations, and policies
• Monitor patient flow, staffing needs, and resource utilization to support quality outcomes
• Conduct patient rounds to evaluate care and address concerns
• Partner with physicians and care teams for patient care and discharge planning
• Support performance improvement, evidence-based practice, and quality initiatives
• Participate in staff development through coaching, mentoring, and precepting
• Assist with scheduling, operational duties, and survey readiness

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree or Diploma; BSN preferred)
• Recent acute care nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
• Current Georgia RN license or Multi-State Compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
