Full-Time Charge Nurse - Medical Specialties

About the role

Provide clinical leadership in a hospital's Medical Specialties unit by overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise unit activities during shifts.
• Coordinate patient care, assignments, and resource utilization.
• Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and promote teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and policies.
• Monitor patient flow, staffing, and address patient concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams on discharge planning.
• Support quality initiatives, performance improvement, and staff development.
• Assist with operational duties such as scheduling and survey readiness.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Recent acute care nursing experience required.
• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred.
• Current Georgia RN license or Multi-State Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
