French - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

About the role

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in French to teach undergraduate courses in French language, culture, literature, linguistics and/or film (beginners to advanced learners).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in French language, culture, literature, linguistics and/or film (beginners to advanced learners)
• Teach at least two of the following subject areas: French Language, Introductory to Advanced French/Francophone Culture, Intermediate to Advanced French/Francophone Literature, Intermediate to Advanced French Linguistics, Intermediate to Advanced

Requirements

• Hold at least a master’s degree in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses
• Be a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 300-level courses
• Hold a Ph.D. in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 400-level courses
• Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the United States of America
• Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level
• Evidence of strong teaching
• Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment
• Relevant work experience
• Professional capabilities
