Part-time Lecturer in French
Part-time Lecturer positions to teach Elementary and Intermediate French courses in an undergraduate program committed to dynamic language instruction for Fall 2026.
About the role
The Department of Francophone, Italian, and Germanic Studies (FIGS) at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates with native or near-native linguistic ability in both French and English. A master’s degree is required; a PhD is preferred in a relevant field. Candidates must have at least two years’ experience teaching language courses at the university level using up-to-date classroom technologies and current, valid authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Teach Elementary and Intermediate French courses
- Attend a week-long orientation starting August 17
Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in French and English
- Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in a relevant field
- Minimum of two years’ university-level language teaching experience
- Experience with current classroom technologies
- Valid U.S. work authorization
Preferences
- Willingness to teach in the afternoon and evening
