Part-time Lecturer in French

Description

The Department of Francophone, Italian, and Germanic Studies (FIGS) of the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for part-time Lecturers to teach Elementary and Intermediate French courses in an undergraduate program committed to dynamic language instruction for Fall 2026.

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native linguistic ability in both French and English
  • Master's degree required, PhD preferred, in relevant field
  • Teaching experience, with at least two years' experience teaching language courses at the university level using up-to-date classroom technologies
  • Current and valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Must attend a week-long orientation, starting on August 17
  • Willingness to teach in the afternoon and evening is desirable

Applicants should submit a cover letter, c.v., recent teaching evaluations and the names of two recommenders with at least one of whom should be able to address the candidate's teaching.
