Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: Responsible for transporting freight in a dock environment, including loading/unloading trailers and verifying freight documentation. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight details and secure cargo inside trailers using appropriate tools.Assist with freight documentation, repairs of damaged goods, and customer interactions.Perform hostling duties if required, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Complete reports and documentation accurately, adhering to company policies. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation is advantageous.Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and pushing freight.Basic math, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.Physical demands include lifting up to approximately 100 pounds and operating trailer doors requiring significant force.Contact with service personnel in a deadline-driven setting.
