Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: This role involves transporting freight within a dock area, loading and unloading trailers, and ensuring proper handling and documentation of freight. Responsibilities Use motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks for freight movement.Verify freight details against documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools, and repair or recoup damaged items as needed.Complete required reports and assist customers with freight documentation.Perform hostling duties if required, and adhere to all safety regulations and policies. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors.Strong physical ability to lift, push, and pull freight repeatedly.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Working Conditions: The environment involves exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise, and a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. Ability to work in a dock environment is essential.
