Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: This role involves transporting freight within a dock area, moving items to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with tools like straps and pallets.Repair or recoup damaged freight as needed.Complete required documentation and reports accurately.Assist customers with freight handling and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Follow all safety laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and open trailer doors.Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.Physical ability to lift, bend, twist, and push freight regularly. Working Conditions: The environment includes exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. The role requires frequent movement of freight and contact with service personnel in a fast-paced setting.
