Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas to/from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools like straps and pallets.Repair or recoup damaged freight as needed.Complete required documentation and assist with freight documentation for customers.Perform hostling duties if required and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors.Strong physical ability to bend, push, pull, and work independently or in a team.Previous dock or warehouse experience is advantageous. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with varied hours based on operational needs.
