About the role
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in Saginaw County. No prior healthcare experience is required, but volunteers must be 18 or older. Note that hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.
Responsibilities
- Sit bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Provide caregiver relief inside private residences
- Conduct pet therapy visits with already licensed dogs
- Play guitar bedside for hospice patients
- Make bereavement support calls to family and assist with grief groups
- Support pre-med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
- Provide remote grief support
Requirements
- Willing to submit TB and drug tests
- Willing to be fingerprinted
