Frankenmuth Michigan Seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers (Non-Paid)

About the Role

AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in the Saginaw County area. No prior healthcare experience is needed, but volunteers must be 18 or older. Please note that hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy (for already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
• Playing guitar bedside for hospice patients
• Bereavement support calls to family and assisting with grief groups
• Pre-med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
• Grief support (remote)

Requirements

• Willing to submit to TB and drug tests
• Willing to be fingerprinted
