About the role
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in the Saginaw County area. No healthcare experience is needed, but volunteers must be 18 or older. Note that hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet therapy (already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
- Playing guitar bedside for hospice patients
- Bereavement support calls to family and assisting with grief groups
- Pre-med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
- Remote grief support
Requirements
- Willing to submit TB and drug tests
- Willing to be fingerprinted
