About the role
AdvisaCare Hospice is looking for compassionate and dependable people to be there for our hospice patients in the DOWN RIVER Wayne County area (Trenton, Riverview, Southgate areas). No healthcare experience is needed. You must be 18 or older. Hospice does not accept court ordered service hours.
Volunteer opportunities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet therapy (already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
- Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
- Bereavement volunteer support calls to family and assisting with grief groups
- Pre-med students who want to learn about gerontology patient care
- Grief support (remote)
Requirements
- Willing to submit TB and drug tests
- Willing to be fingerprinted
