Frankenmuth Michigan Seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers (Non-Paid)

AdvisaCare Hospice serves patients in the Saginaw County area. Volunteers must be 18 or older. (Hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.)

About the role

We are urgently seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in various capacities. No healthcare experience is needed—just a willingness to make a difference in your community.

Responsibilities

• Sit bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Provide caregiver relief inside private residences
• Conduct pet therapy visits with already licensed dogs
• Play guitar bedside for hospice patients
• Make bereavement support calls to family and assist with grief groups
• Support pre-med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
• Provide remote grief support

Requirements

• Willing to submit to TB and drug tests
• Willing to be fingerprinted
