About the role

The Franchise Business Coach (FBC) is the main point of contact between the brand and the franchisees, responsible for supporting franchisees in all aspects of their franchise operations. In partnership with franchisees, the FBC identifies opportunities in sales, operations, profitability, branding, and growth, and helps develop improvement plans and recommendations to drive results. The FBC trains franchisees on various topics, tools, and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support 125 to 150 franchisees as their primary point of contact.
  • Strategically prioritize support across an assigned territory using a high-touch, targeted approach for underperforming units while providing scalable, high-level business development coaching for top-tier performers.
  • Coordinate and lead regular business reviews with assigned franchise owners, covering business performance, marketing and sales, new opportunities, and other relevant topics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with franchisees to provide strategic business support, coaching, and business development.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of day-to-day operations of business systems such as CRMs, QuickBooks, and other software supporting franchisees’ businesses.
  • Conduct deep-dive financial reviews using P&L statements, COGS, and labor metrics to perform peer group benchmarking and drive unit-level profitability.
  • Lead analytical discussions with franchisees on financial and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve business performance.
  • Make regular in-person visits to assigned franchisees to build relationships, understand their territories, and provide guidance on operations and business development.
  • Guide franchisees on developing and executing tailored Local Area Marketing strategies, localized digital lead generation, and community-based business development tactics.
  • Act as a neutral, diplomatic liaison between corporate leadership and franchisees to mediate operational disputes, navigate system-wide policy changes, and drive franchisee satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to plan, coordinate, and execute the Annual Convention, Regional Meetings, training events, and other company events.
  • Conduct formal, periodic brand standard audits and field visits to ensure franchisee adherence to system operating guidelines, brand identity, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate activities to build relationships and trust between franchisees, BELFOR Property Restoration, and franchisees of other BFG brands.
  • Participate in the new franchisee onboarding process.
  • Provide support to the Brand President, Director of Operations, and Franchise Development Operations as needed.
  • Available to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to meet with franchisees in person, attend internal meetings, and attend industry events.

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to manage personal travel itineraries independently within company expense policies.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience in multi-unit operations, franchise management, or enterprise franchise coaching.

Performance Metrics

  • Regional same-store sales (SSS) growth and systemic unit-level profit expansion across assigned territory.
  • On-time execution of scheduled business reviews, site visits, and audit remediations.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting at the BFG Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, there will be times when the employee must present to groups in a standing position.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
