Food Service Assistant II - 2027-6

Responsibilities

• Performs cooking duties
• Perform assigned tasks under supervision of lunchroom manager
• Maintain standards of safety which include, but are not limited to, caring for and the use of knives, handling chemicals and operating fire extinguisher
• Maintain standards of sanitation regarding grooming, clothing, food handling and equipment
• Assume leadership in preparation of food within established production system following standardized recipes, preparation and service methods and food handling techniques to insure acceptable standards
• Under manager's direction, performs school's menu plan, adjusts for nutritionally equivalent food substitutes, leftovers and plans for emergencies
• Receive/record daily money receipts, record daily student/adult participation
• Perform duties assigned which may include, but are not limited to, cleaning the kitchen, dining room and receiving platform
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned by site administrator

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
