Food Service Assistant II - 2027-23

Responsibilities

• Performs cooking duties
• Performs assigned tasks under supervision of lunchroom manager
• Maintains standards of safety, including but not limited to:
  • Caring for and using knives
  • Handling chemicals
  • Operating fire extinguisher
• Maintains standards of sanitation regarding grooming, clothing, food handling, and equipment
• Assumes leadership in preparation of food within established production system, following standardized recipes, preparation and service methods, and food handling techniques to ensure acceptable standards
• Under manager's direction, performs school's menu plan, adjusts for nutritionally equivalent food substitutes, leftovers, and plans for emergencies
• Receives/records daily money receipts and records daily student/adult participation
• Performs duties assigned, which may include but are not limited to cleaning the kitchen, dining room, and receiving platform
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned by site administrator

Schedule: 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year.
