Food Service Assistant II - 2027-16

Responsibilities

• Performs cooking duties.
• Performs assigned tasks under supervision of lunchroom manager.
• Maintains standards of safety, including but not limited to:
  • Caring for and using knives.
  • Handling chemicals.
  • Operating fire extinguishers.
• Maintains standards of sanitation regarding grooming, clothing, food handling, and equipment.
• Assumes leadership in food preparation within established production systems, following standardized recipes, preparation and service methods, and food handling techniques to ensure acceptable standards.
• Under the manager's direction, performs the school's menu plan, adjusts for nutritionally equivalent food substitutes, leftovers, and plans for emergencies.
• Receives and records daily money receipts; records daily student/adult participation.
• Performs duties assigned, which may include but are not limited to cleaning the kitchen, dining room, and receiving platform.
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned by site administrator.

Schedule

6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year.
