About the role
In a Snack Bar, the primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
- Slicing lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
- Clearing and cleaning tables and work surfaces promptly.
- Removing perishable foods from the freezer for daily activities.
- Accepting food orders from patrons and serving alcoholic beverages.
- Serving as cashier, receiving payment by cash or charge.
- Driving a mobile eating cart to deliver food and drink to patrons.
- Coordinating food and beverage needs for special events.
Requirements
The following qualifications are necessary:
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts, including mornings, afternoons, early evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and annual refresher training.
- Must meet state/local age requirements (18 years old) at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
- Must meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- Must be available to work a one-year probationary period.
- Must be willing to undergo a Medical Examination.
Skills
The following skills are required:
- Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push, and reach.
- Basic food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and understand written material.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to operate a cash register, run a snack bar, and drive a food cart.
Qualifications

- Have experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade.
- Meet state/local age requirements (18) for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
- Be able to work without more than normal supervision.
- Be able to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
- Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
- Be able to interpret verbal and written instructions.
- Know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures.
- Have a working knowledge of sanitation standards.
- Have the ability to read and understand written material.
- Have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Have the ability to operate a cash register, run a snack bar, and drive a food cart.
