About the Role

This position involves a variety of duties in food service, cash handling, and customer service within a 7-day operation. Work schedules vary based on the needs of the activity, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collects sales slips, totals sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons, and makes change as necessary.
• Maintains related cash records.
• Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages.
• Prepares coffee, hot water for tea, and fills beverage dispensers with juices and soft drinks.
• Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving.
• Sets tables, seats guests, records guests' selections, and turns in orders to the kitchen.
• Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
• Cleans tables and immediate area.
• Washes dishes, pots, and pans.
• Empties trash and cleans and sanitizes containers.
• Unloads trucks and places contents in proper storage and use areas; brings supplies to work areas.
• Cleans floors, walls, and windows in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.
• Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
• An employer-referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
• Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds; requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking, and reaching.
• Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat; care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment, with a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.

Qualifications

• Must meet state/local age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment (18 years of age or older).
• Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
• Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
• Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
