Food and Beverage Attendant NA-03.

Support communities of military and civilian personnel and their families by providing food and beverage service in a dining facility.

Responsibilities

• Collects sales slips, totals sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons, and makes change as necessary.
• Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
• Presents bill and receives payment.
• Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving.
• Checks food during cooking to prevent overcooking.
• Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Requires constant standing, stooping, bending, walking, and reaching.
• Works safely in food preparation and storage areas to avoid injury.
• Mixes and serves alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
• Calculates patron bills and takes inventory using math skills.
• Serves uniform individual portions while handling multiple guest requests simultaneously.
• Uses special cleaning and sanitizing solutions properly.
• Works alone with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Must complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
• May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
• Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat.
• A medical examination is required.
• Must meet state/local age (18) requirements for serving alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.
• Able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

• Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of simple food handling techniques and proper use of cleaning/sanitizing solutions.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week, whichever is more beneficial. Regular full-time, part-time, and flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible for extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours fall after 3:00 PM.

Schedule

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials are not paid, contingent upon eligibility.
