Flag Football Official - Temporary Position

Job Summary

This person serves as a flag football referee for youth, recreational games. Duties include calling violations/penalties, keeping time, keeping score, and acting as a coach/instructor to aid in the overall success of the league.

Job Duties

• Act as an official for youth flag football games including calling penalties, keeping time, and keeping score
• Assist coaches to help players line up properly prior to a play
• Oversight of players and coaches before, during and after games

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Basic knowledge of football/flag football rules
• Education and/or Experience: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required

Supplemental Information

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Miscellaneous Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio and percentage, draw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Abilities

• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand for long periods of time, walk, run, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and occasional extreme heat
