The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business, and technology within the State University of New York, invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty Position in the Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management Master's Degree program, School of Graduate Studies.

About the Role

The School of Graduate Studies seeks a full-time faculty member in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management (CFMM) with demonstrated research and business skills in the beauty industry. The role involves leadership in expanding and implementing FIT’s first research center: The Beauty Center at FIT. Responsibilities include teaching, research leadership, and cultivating industry and alumni partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Teach coursework in market research, consumer behavior, global market insights, and field study courses.
  • Lead the Beauty Center at FIT, including collaborative research projects, focus groups, research seminars, and executive development workshops.
  • Develop graduate curricular offerings, executive education programs, and workshops.
  • Mentor student and faculty research projects, including publication-level deliverables.
  • Cultivate and expand the CFMM Alumni Association for professional development, mentorship, and career support.
  • Leverage global industry contacts to organize collaborative research and field visits.
  • Participate in department and college-wide governance, including committee service.
  • Contribute to FIT’s strategic goals in globalism, instructional design, learning enrichment, professionalism, technology, and research.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Graduate degree (MBA, MPS, MPA, MSc, MPhil, MEd, JD, PhD, ScD, DPhil, EdD, or equivalent).
    • Relevant beauty industry experience with a demonstrated record of market research expertise.
    • Graduate or executive-level teaching and/or corporate training experience.
    • Experience presenting research to senior executive-level industry leadership and mentoring others in research preparation and presentation.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Senior-level background in market research and analysis, with experience devising field and industry research.
    • Global industry network to independently organize research initiatives.
    • Highly visible and respected industry thought leader with graduate-level teaching experience.
    • Experience in curriculum development, advising graduate-level research, and mentoring executive students.
    • Record of publications, industry presentations, and participation in executive-level industry gatherings.
    • Corporate training, marketing, PR/promotional experience in beauty, including media spokesperson roles.
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the beauty industry.
