About the Role

The Illustration and Interactive Media Department is recruiting a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions. Successful candidates will be industry-leading digital designers with award-winning design sensibility and expertise in web design, user experience design (UX), user interface design (UI), motion graphics, 3D modeling, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR). Adjunct instructors deliver course material, assess student performance, provide guidance, and submit grades.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver relevant course material in digital design and interactive media.
  • Assess student performance and provide guidance both in and out of the classroom.
  • Instruct on the safe use of tools and machinery.
  • Communicate conceptual ideas for class projects through lectures and visual presentations.
  • Submit grades on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of teaching experience at the college level.
  • Master of Fine Arts degree or equivalent.

Skills

  • Award-winning design sensibility.
  • Ability to teach technical courses and design studios.
  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Expertise in UX/UI design tools such as Figma and Protopie.
  • Expertise in responsive web design and developing design systems.
  • Expertise in front-end development.
  • Expertise in After Effects and/or Premiere.
  • Expertise in audio/sound design.
  • Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Blender and Fusion 360.
  • Expertise in open-source electronic prototyping platforms such as Arduino.
  • Expertise in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies.
  • Expertise in social media campaign and promotion.

Schedule

This is a part-time adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026.

Pay

The compensation is governed by the UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The base rate is $89.98 per hour, with the final rate determined by qualifications and experience in accordance with the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules.
