About the Role
The Textile Development and Marketing Department within the School of Business and Technology is recruiting adjunct faculty for part-time teaching positions in Textile Science. Candidates should have expertise in textile development, including fibers, yarns, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing. Adjunct instructors deliver course material, assess student performance, provide guidance, and submit grades in a timely manner.
The course, TDM TS 111: Fundamentals of Textiles (3 credits, 2 lecture and 2 lab hours), covers textile materials with an emphasis on fibers, yarns, construction, color, and finish, as well as the characteristics of market fabrics. The class uses J.J. Pizzuto's Fabric Science textbook and swatch kit.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in the field or a closely related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master's degree in the field or a closely related field.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of textile fundamentals, including product development for woven and knit fabrics.
- Expertise in textile coloration, finishing, and quality assurance.
- Aptitude for interdisciplinary projects and integrating multimedia into the classroom.
Schedule
This is a part-time adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Pay
Compensation is governed by the UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The base rate is $89.98 per hour for candidates meeting minimum qualifications. Final rate, step, and rank may vary based on additional criteria outlined in the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules.
