About the role
The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the financial close process and related activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the related TJX Financial Statements, as well as presenting and providing analysis of these financial statements. This role also includes hiring, supervision, and development of a team of accountants.
Responsibilities
- Manage the development and provide mentorship and training to 2–3 Financial Accountants.
- Delegate work and assignments.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and complex accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of Financial Statements.
- Review and analyze Financial Statements and supporting schedules/disclosures—including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Forms 10-Q, 10-K, etc.—with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with US GAAP.
- Ensure control environment and SOX controls are maintained.
- Own the oversight of special projects, management presentations, and ad hoc requests.
- Independently lead the accounting team in meetings with business partners on accounting matters.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvement and efficiencies.
- Research and interpret new and recently issued accounting standards.
- Lead discussions with internal and external auditors regarding related audits.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Accounting, Audit, or Finance experience.
- Prior management experience (1–2+ years preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- CPA/MBA a plus.
- Public Accounting experience a plus.
- Technical accounting and strong understanding of GAAP (public/private or mix).

Pay
This position has a starting salary range of $104,800.00 to $136,200.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
