Accounting Manager

We are Legionnaire, a small aviation business based in Denison, Texas, specializing in government flight testing of cutting-edge products. Our highly skilled team is focused on research and development (R&D), quality, production, and the maintenance of our A4 fleet, delivering top-tier solutions to meet the rigorous demands of our clients. The Accounting Manager will manage and execute accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. Key Responsibilities Managing the overall financial health of an organization by supervising accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance. Core duties include: Financial Management: Perform and oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, billing, cost accounting, and revenue recognitionReporting and Analysis: Prepare and publish timely financial statements, monitor budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights to support strategic decisionsBudgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectivesInternal Controls and Compliance: Develop and enforce internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsAudit and Tax Management: Lead annual audits, liaise with external auditors, and manage tax complianceTeam Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering professional development and performance managementStrategic Support: Provide financial guidance on mergers, acquisitions, investments, and other business initiatives to optimize return on equity and assetsSpecialized Roles: In some organizations, accounting managers may focus on areas like sales profitability, trade budget management, and customer-specific P&L analysis Required Skills And Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related fields.Experience: 5+ years in day to day accounting management or accounting roles, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisTechnical Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise) strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendationsCommunication and Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with executives, departments, and external stakeholders Why Join Us?
