Accounting Manager

About The Role

The Accounting Manager owns the monthly close process, financial reporting accuracy, and internal control execution for a rapidly growing organization. This role ensures all financial transactions are processed, recorded, and reported in strict compliance with US GAAP and SEC guidelines. Operating at the center of the finance team, this position bridges technical accounting policy with day-to-day general ledger operations. The role will collaborate closely with external auditors, system administrators, and FP&A to design scalable financial processes and support preparation for future public readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial statements in NetSuite.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses for key balance sheet and income statement accounts under US GAAP.
• Design, implement, and document internal controls in compliance with SOX 404 requirements across core operational accounting cycles.
• Prepare financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules for SEC-aligned reporting packages, including cash flow statements.
• Manage the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditor inquiries and coordinating the timely delivery of PBC schedules.
• Collaborate with the systems team to automate routine accounting workflows and optimize the ERP environment for financial reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including stock-based compensation, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and lease accounting (ASC 842).

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and corporate tech industry experience preferred.
• Active CPA license is required.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, SOX compliance framework, and SEC reporting standards.
• Hands-on administrator-level experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday Financials, or Oracle, alongside advanced Excel proficiency.
• Proven track record of managing and developing senior accountants and external accounting contractors.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders.
• Bonus: Direct experience assisting a company through an IPO, SPAC transaction, or a material ERP implementation.
