Responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements, job costing reports, budgets, cash flow projections, monthly draws
- Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate and timely recording of all transactions
- Produces monthly financial statements and other management reports
- Maintains the general ledger and updates supporting schedules and workbooks
- Manages Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Experience with variety of AP contexts including (a) high volume/low value vendor bills and (b) low volume/high complexity vendor bills (AIA/Construction billing experience a plus)
- Reviews construction contractor bills and reconcile against purchase orders and progress billing
- Provides accurate and timely financial information to both internal and external stakeholders
- Inter-company reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, interest and provision calculations
- Prepares Property Tax Returns and other related tax forms
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Conducts analysis as required by management
- Completes ad hoc requests
- Communicates routinely with Project Managers on a variety of job-related topics including bonding, insurance and contract agreements
- Develops, implements, and maintains construction management system, including setting up projects (jobs), budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and various construction progress reports
- Manages all Payroll activities
- Monitors weekly payroll to ADP for processing. Reconciles payroll numbers to accounting system. Updates payroll system for salary changes, benefit changes, wage garnishments and new hires
- Produces and reviews payroll reports for/with CFO
- Works directly with external auditors during the annual year-end audit
- Covers coordination efforts to provide needed information for the auditors
- Maintains the scope of the audit within the prescribed boundaries
- Conducts internal audits of processes, records and information
- Directs the implementation of needed adjustments as determined by audit
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA preferred
- Construction experience and/or real estate background, required
- Strong understanding of management and cost accounting principles
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong computer and software skills, specifically with QuickBooks and Yardi
- Ability to meet hard month, quarter and year end deadlines
- Highly organized with outstanding communication skills
Pay
The compensation for this position ranges from $150,000.00 - $175,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
