About the role

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a large, publicly traded organization in the Greater Boston area that is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to lead a team, own key areas of the monthly close, and partner cross-functionally within a complex, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly accounting close, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
  • Oversee accounting activity to ensure transactions are accurately captured within the subledger and general ledger
  • Review journal entries, adjustments, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting analyses for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Develop and maintain analyses that provide effective control over and visibility into general ledger activity
  • Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to identify and resolve accounting issues arising from business transactions
  • Provide reporting and financial information to internal stakeholders to support business and operational processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve reconciliations, reporting, analyses, and accounting processes through effective use of systems and technology
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including Accountants, Senior Accountants, and Accounting Supervisors
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on meeting business objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a complex monthly close environment
  • Previous leadership or people management experience strongly preferred
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across different functions and levels of an organization
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% as needed

Pay

$115,000–$125,000 + bonus, equity
