About the role
This position is an integral part of the Finance Department of the Salish & Kootenai Housing Authority. The role involves assisting with multiple components of the department, ensuring all assignments are completed promptly and accurately. Key responsibilities include routine bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other accounting-related activities. The position requires strong organization skills and the ability to work independently, while collaborating closely with the Finance Manager, CPA, and Finance Department staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties.
- Manage and maintain the accounts receivable system.
- Handle tasks related to the accounts payable system.
- Assist with various other accounting-related activities.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager, CPA, and Finance Department staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of accounting-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education from an accredited college or university demonstrating accounting knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be bondable.
- Current, valid Montana driver’s license with no alcohol-related convictions in the last three years.
- Willingness to travel out of the area for training.
