About the role

As a Field Service Technician on our Service team, you will be the primary interface with customers after projects are complete. This highly technical, dedicated team ensures maximum up-time of equipment for our customers, while also identifying potential sales for aging equipment or where enhancements or modifications might be needed. We manage a variety of systems including standard products and custom projects in life science, friction stir welding, material handling, robotics, aerospace, environmental, crane, nuclear and other industries/applications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspection, calibration, service and repairs of custom automated assembly, advanced manufacturing, and materials handling systems
  • Planning and coordinating inspections, calibrations, repairs, execution of aftermarket upgrades and commissioning of standard and custom PAR products
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for repairs and upgrades, then fully execute repairs, upgrades, and commissioning equipment
  • Provide remote troubleshooting support when not traveling to customer sites
  • Work hands-on in a variety of customer environments following PAR and customer-specific safety procedures
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, support installations, and complete upgrades
  • Communicate directly with customers, coordinate with PAR team members, subcontractors, and site personnel
  • Document work performed, complete required reports and paperwork, and ensure customers understand equipment condition and recommended next steps

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Automation, Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent vocation/technical training and experience (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of previous field service experience
  • Previous field service experience with servo-hydraulic, closed loop systems and controls preferred and highly desirable
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wire diagrams
  • Computer skills to include MS Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI and CMAA codes or regulations
  • Travel 50-70% (mostly planned and scheduled well in advance)

Our starting rate of pay for this hourly position is targeted at $30-$33 an hour and is eligible to receive overtime pay based on federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
