About the role
As a Fuel Handling Equipment Field Service Technician, you will support Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions. This role requires significant travel and involves working with and around hazardous materials.
Responsibilities
- Install, set-up, and maintain fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide.
- Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail.
- Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications.
- Document equipment performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use.
- Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with technology and procedures.
- Practice a "Safety First" attitude as an important part of all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas. Maintain "Unescorted Access" status at nuclear power plant sites.
- Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity.
- Report to the service supervisor the status of field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes on a daily or as needed basis.
Qualifications
- A high school graduate or equivalent plus a 2-year post-high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience.
- 2 or more years of experience where satisfactorily demonstrated evidence of mechanical, electrical, and programmable logic controller knowledge and skill.
- Nuclear industry experience is beneficial.
- This position is subject to the requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access, and fitness for responsibility programs.
- Requires the ability to occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
- Individual must have full range of motion i.e. ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for 4 hours per day.
- We will ask you to pass a Westinghouse physical which includes a spirometer for the ability to wear a respirator.

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $74,941.84 to $98,759.22 per year.
Schedule
This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States but does require significant travel. Projects are 2-4 weeks but during Spring and Fall may be traveling 2 to 3 months at a time before going home to reset.
