About the Role
The FSE I/II performs calibrations, qualifications, and some repairs on small laboratory instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, timers, and thermometers. This role involves calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair of various types of laboratory equipment both in the field and in the lab.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair on laboratory equipment such as pipettes, balances, centrifuges, and thermometers.
- Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations and preventative maintenance as necessary.
- Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
- Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issues impacting service delivery, particularly those affecting turnaround times.
- Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
- Follow good documentation practices (GDP) as applicable to daily activities.
- Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
- Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external parties.
- Follow Eurofins work policies and all applicable SOPs; ensure training remains current.
- Maintain client confidentiality, specifically if information about the customer is obtained from sources other than the customer.
- Act impartially within the management system.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar).
- 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) experience in a related field, preferably as a Field Service Technician.
- Experience in providing calibrations on pipettes and/or balances (FSE II).
- Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments.
- Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication.
- Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel within customer territory 1-2 days per week Monday-Friday; overnight travel as needed.
Schedule
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $27/hour - $34/hour depending on related experience and qualification.
