About the role
A Facility Maintenance Supervisor is sought after Freedom, a leading direct mail marketing provider. Key responsibilities include overseeing essential facilities such as HVAC units, plumbing, minor machinery repairs, painting, electrical, and lighting systems. This role also involves coordinating projects, hiring staff, approving timecards, scheduling overtime, and evaluating employees.
Responsibilities
- Regularly inspect the facility to identify work that needs to be completed
- Coordinate all installation, maintenance, and repair work
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
- Participate in the hiring process, approve timecards, schedule overtime, & evaluate staff annually
- Able to conduct basic preventative maintenance tasks
- Replace light bulbs, paint walls, floors, ceilings, change HVAC filters
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, including circuit breakers, wiring, and control panels
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations
- Basic carpentry
- Install or repair minor equipment as needed
- Collaborate with other workers including managers and professionals
- Maintain janitorial inventory and work with purchasing to replenish as needed
- Local travel required 50% of the time
- Other job duties may be assigned by manager
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required
- Excellent planning & leadership abilities
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to problem-solve and overcome obstacles
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of electrical codes and safety protocols, ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repairs
- Must be able to work in confined areas and in high areas (rooftop, scissor lift)
- The ability to work independently, able to work well with co-workers and is self-motivated
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft products
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Complies with all OSHA general safety rules
