Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Prince George’s County Office of Central Services is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, grade G-23, within its Facilities Operation and Management Division. This is an essential position responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of county facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and inspects new and ongoing construction/maintenance projects to ensure compliance and completion.
• Aids crews in resolving day-to-day issues related to facility maintenance.
• Plans, estimates, inspects, and reports on in-house renovations, new installations, and maintenance.
• Determines priorities, manpower requirements, materials, and equipment needed for facility maintenance.
• Monitors performance of contracted vendors in repair, maintenance, and installation services.
• Confers and coordinates with building occupants, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other County agencies to resolve construction/maintenance service issues.
• Exercises considerable independent judgement in facility management and building maintenance.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program in one or more of the skilled trades.
• Five (5) years of work experience in one or more of the skilled trades, including installing, maintaining, and repairing specific equipment.
• Two (2) of the five (5) years must have been at the supervisory lead capacity.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with no more than six (6) points.
