Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and daily supervision to staff in the department.
  • Support and administer operational goals, monitoring performance and profit objectives.
  • Adhere to scheduling and coordinate concerns with the manager, prioritizing guest satisfaction.
  • Support compliance with departmental budgets.
  • Promote and demonstrate superior customer service in line with company standards.
  • Ensure customer service standards are followed by all team members and address issues as they arise.
  • Maintain cost control methods by monitoring pars and inventory.
  • Assist in developing procedures for food service and inspect menu items for customer satisfaction.
  • Follow quality assurance procedures to meet health department and customer service standards.
  • Respond to guest needs and report problems to the Manager.
  • Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to relay pertinent information.
  • Assist in cleaning and resetting the F&B outlet during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor the appearance of food/beverage served and communicate deviations from standards.
  • Assist in cross-training team members while encouraging and supporting peers.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and report potential issues to management.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May or may not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Manage work procedures and expedite workflow.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to team members.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED; or two years of customer service experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five years’ experience in Food & Beverage preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with guests, staff, and colleagues to resolve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook programs.
  • Knowledge of kitchen/restaurant sanitation, equipment operation, and maintenance.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English (e.g., safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals).
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Employee must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas, including confined spaces.

Work Environment

  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Exposure to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
