Experienced Surgery RN - Days - With Call

Job Description Summary

This position requires a commitment to on-call shifts. When on-call, associates have 30 minutes to drive to the hospital, park, changing into surgical scrubs, and report to the charge RN. Candidates for this role must have recent OR experience as an RN in an acute care hospital. New graduates or tenured bedside RNs without OR experience need to apply to the OR RN Residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings.
• Accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual (30%).
• Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs (30%).
• Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data (20%).
• Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
• Focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties as a High Reliability Organization (HRO).

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree: Nursing (Required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
• BSN required at 5 years of employment

Additional Job Description

• Minimum Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
