About the role
The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
- Clean customer vehicles after every job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and MRM technology.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other licenses required by federal, state, and local laws to operate a company vehicle.
- Required: Safelite SafeTech™ certification.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
- Proficiency in operating motor vehicles and using computerized diagnostic tools.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Professionalism and ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, both independently and collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
- Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.

Pay
Competitive weekly pay ranging from $25.25 - $30.75/hour. Additional incentives include earning $5/set of wiper blades for customer safety and potential promotions within the first year.
