Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and MRM technology.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other licenses required by federal, state, and local laws to operate a company vehicle.
• Required: Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
• Proficiency in operating motor vehicles and using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Professionalism and ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, both independently and collaboratively.
• Reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.

Pay

Competitive weekly pay ranging from $25.25 - $30.75/hour. Additional incentives include earning $5/set of wiper blades for customer safety and potential promotions within the first year.
