Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. They leverage Safelite’s training, tools, and technology to provide efficient, safe, and high-quality services both in the shop and on mobile units.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), and chemical applications.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite products and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate company vehicles.
• Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous experience in automotive glass repair or similar field.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work with chemicals as required.
• Flexibility to work scheduled days and adjust start/end times as needed.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Professional appearance and adherence to company uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
