About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. They leverage Safelite’s training, tools, and technology to provide efficient, safe, and high-quality services both in shops and on mobile glass shops.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
  • Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order systems, and MRM technology.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite products and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate company vehicles.
  • Required: Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
  • Operating a motor vehicle according to all legal requirements and monitoring via in-cab video surveillance.
  • Professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
  • Problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to handle professional or personal pressures and opposition.
