About the role
The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. They leverage Safelite's training, tools, and technology to provide efficient, safe, and high-quality services both in shops and mobile settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services in a safe and efficient manner.
- Clean customer vehicles after every job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order systems, and MRM technology.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite products and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate a company vehicle.
- Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
- Operating a motor vehicle according to all federal, state, and local laws.
- Professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and temperatures.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Professional appearance and adherence to company uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
- Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure and opposition.
