Main Purpose of Job
The candidate will create a classroom learning environment in which assigned students make measurable progress towards identified goals as indicated by the successful completion of requirement of for the Maryland Certificate of Achievement in Adult Literacy and Life Skills and/or a Maryland High School Diploma.
Position Duties
- Facilitate learning within the classroom
- Lesson planning
- Professional development/meetings
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the principal and/or academic coordinator
Minimum Qualifications
- Six years of experience planning and conducting employee development and training
- Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience planning, conducting or coordinating training or staff development activities for the required experience
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in education and training classification or education and training specialty codes in the education and training field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
- Two years of adult education or ESL experience preferred
Special Requirements
- All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the division of Unemployment Insurance (LABOR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to LABOR/DUI as a result of an unemployment insurance overpayment and/or fraud.
- Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
